The Bigger You Dream, The Better Your Place
Residents of Shelburne & Buckland: You are needed!
To help create a parking lot with vision in Buckland.
The Shelburne Falls Area Partnership, a collaboration between the towns of Buckland and Shelburne and the Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association, invite the community – particularly artists and residents from the Village of Shelburne Falls – to attend our upcoming Placemaking workshops that will focus on creatively imagining a spectacular, new place in the parking lot in front of Salmon Falls Gallery. Since the town’s recent acquisition of new property, the property is now available for development; the community is invited to participate in the process of its design.

Placemaking is a people-centered approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces. It involves looking at, listening to, and asking questions of the people who live, work, and play in a particular space, to discover needs and aspirations. This information is then used to create a common vision for that place. The vision can evolve quickly into an implementation strategy, beginning with small-scale, do-able improvements that can immediately bring benefits to public spaces and the people who use them.
