GSFABA Working with Business Leaders to Improve Village Holiday Decorations
SHELBURNE FALLS – The Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association has been working with several business leaders to make the village more festive next winter. They agree that the village decorations have been a bit tired looking in recent years, so GSFABA has been working with them to remedy the situation for Shelburne Falls businesses and residents.
The Holiday Decorations Committee has discussed the need for more traditional lighting that is more festive than the cool blue lights that the village currently has, renewing the garlands on the poles and across the Bridge and State Streets, and perhaps re-establishing a Christmas tree or Village lighting ceremony.
The group has gotten estimates on the cost and will be meeting to discuss how GSFABA should move forward. Stay tuned. GSFABA plans to have a meeting in May to let villagers see the design and location of the business-historic-cultural district holiday decorations.

Shelburne Falls Partnership Goes Unfunded by Towns
SHELBURNE FALLS – The Towns of Shelburne and Buckland recently made the decision to not fund their 25-year-long partnership with the Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association that plans and raises funds for collaborative economic development and capital improvement projects in the village.
The GSFABA Board of Directors stated the it has been exceedingly grateful for the Shelburne Falls Area Partnership while it has lasted. It’s been of great benefit to Village residents and businesses by attracting grants through our collaboration with Buckland and Shelburne. The Board hopes to continue to work with the towns going forward, once they are able to fund the Partnership again.
