I know, you may have gotten a little dusting but Piti Theatre's 8th annual SYRUP: One Sweet Performing Arts Festival will shine a light on spring this Saturday, March 18 at Memorial Hall in Shelburne Falls! This year's headliner is two time Grammy winner Bill Harley who will be performing his own set and narrating stories performed by Piti's Shelburne Falls Youth Troupe at 4 pm. Get in the mood for Bill's mix of hilarity and heart with Piti Theatre's world premiere of Sammy and the Grand Buffet, a solo physical-international comedy featuring Jonathan Mirin as Sammy, an American clown in Paris at 2 pm. Children will learn the basics of creating comic characters and their theatrical environments. Limited to 10 participants.   3:30 – 5:30 pm: Funny Stuff for Grown-ups Acting and Physical Comedy/Clowning Workshop led by Jonathan Mirin. Participants will road-test exercises from the actor’s (and clown’s) toolbox that can be applied in both theatre and “real world” contexts like status work, improvisation, creating comedic characters, and developing rapport with an audience.
