The Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association (GSFABA) will be holding their Fall Breakfast and Annual Meeting on Friday, October 31st from 7:30 - 9:00AM at the Trinity Church located a 19 Severance Street in Shelburne Falls. The agenda will include annual elections, outlining our goals for 2015 and highlighting our accomplishments.

The Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative (BFMC), in partnershipwith Baystate Health, will produce the FIRST WMASS Film & Media Exchange at Baystate Health’s
Whitney Avenue Conference Center, 361 Whitney Avenue Holyoke, MA 01040

The day-long Exchange will:

  • Introduce professional film, video and media professionals to each other and to interested local businesses who incorporate film and video in their marketing efforts
  • Feature workshops and seminars on the art of film and video production
  • Display the newest emerging products and technologies
  • Present workshops on managing a small film/media business in the creative economy
  • Help marketing & PR professionals meet videographers they can hire locally

Throughout the day, Baystate Health will offer wellness seminars for film and media professionals in the area of nutrition, exercise, stress relief and sleep management.

Mohawk Trail 100th Anniversary

The Mohawk Trail, which opened in 1914, is celebrating its 100th Anniversary! As a part of that celebration, a partnership of business associations, tourism groups and chambers of commerce, including GSFABA, are working together to promote the region with a unified message about the Trail through co-branding and marketing. The collaborative effort will promote community development and tourism in central and western Massachusetts.

19.14 Promotion

The Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association (GSFABA) is working with the Mohawk Trail Partners to promote tourism the length of the Mohawk Trail Region from Athol to Williamstown. GSFABA is reaching out to area businesses and organizations to take advantage of a great cross-promotional opportunity to attract customers. Each retail shop, restaurant, tourist spot or recreational venue would offer a special item, service or meal for $19.14 during the promotional time period. The GSFABA promotional time period is October 1 - December 31, 2014. Visitors will be encouraged to Shop the Trail, Dine the Trail, and Explore the Trail for its 100th Anniversary.

Scarecrow Project

Businesses, Organizations, and Residents in the region: Celebrate the Fall season and the 100th Anniversary of the Mohawk Trail by getting into the spirit of the season and building a scarecrow that shows your creative fun side. You can create your scarecrow to show you hobbies/interests or showcase the purpose of your organization/business or to advertise an upcoming regional event you are hosting. Scarecrows will be collected and placed along the Mohawk Trail. Please click here to view details and fill out the form to participate.
